Quintessence is symbolized by the pentagram which perfectly divides the microcosmic circle. The Platonic Solid that relates to Quintessence is the dodecahedron, a regular twelve-sided figure whose faces are made up of perfect pentagons. The symbol represents the individual of the universe that contains the whole universe in itself. All things of our universe own their being from the three philoshophic principles: Body, Soul and Spirit. All things of our universe are then comprised in varying balance of the four philosophical elements: Earth, Air, Water and Fire. Each of these elements holds two qualities which are shared with the other elements, giving the varietal mixta and the dynamic for transformation. Earth is cold and dry; Water is cold and moist; Air is hot and moist and Fire is hot and dry. Inherent within the four elements is the mysterious and intangible fifth element, Azoth, the quinta essencia, or the absolute essence of the thing which is spiritual, highly distilled and incorruptible, its cosmic swabhava.
Quintessence therefore is not a by-product of the basic elements, it is the ethereal secret of the elements themselves - the unity of the three philosophic principles. It is the Source of all things of the universe, the divinity of the myriad ten thousand, the secret fire of ancient alchemy.

Artists of Life, the alchemists of our time, consider their creative practice (not limited to just their art, relationships, or studies) as a sacred endeavour that enables them to understand the mysteries of the natural universe and unveil the secrets behind the cloak of unconsciousness. It becomes the unified goal of existence to always find presence, in oneself, so that one may be useful to the world. Our only purpose is to create from a state of presence. The heralding Wand of Hermes, symbolically associated with the Healer (caduceus), draws visual metaphor from several ancient symbols. The two intertwining snakes represent the duality of all principles that make manifest the ten thousand things: Yang and Yin, light and dark (Sol/Luna), male and female, 0 and 1 etc...In this Celtic image, the central axis has been replaced by seven spheres (the chakras of the energy body) showing the spiritual reconciliation through the pathway of Indian Yogic philosophy - the veritable application of personal Alchemy through sustained practice of visualization meditation and Yoga. The four elements are shown as well as the mystical connection of the planes of existence.
